When you’re in a situation where you’re looking for ways to fix your marriage, you are already stressed to the max. Most marriage problems start small – like mole hills.
If you let try to push those small problems under the rug, they will grow and grow and eventually become mountains. These problems are still able to be overcome, but they will be harder.
Wouldn’t you much rather face a problem when it is small, rather than letting it get out of hand?
Body language is one of the surest signs there are that will tell you something’s wrong. Does your spouse seem fidgety or nervous about something? Is something just not right about them? This is your spouse – you will know when something is wrong. You may not know WHAT is wrong, but you will know something is.
If you suspect something isn’t right, try to talk to your spouse about it. Tell them that you noticed they’re upset, and ask if there’s anything you can do to help.
When was the last time the two of you went on a vacation? Or have had any alone time together? If it has been a long time, you should try to get away for a while. A week long vacation would be ideal, but a weekend away or even a night out is enough to do the trick.
A change in surroundings is wonderful for a troubled marriage. it lets the two of you relax a little, and remember what it is that made you fall in love with each other in the first place.
You should always keep your spouse first on your list of priorities. Your spouse was there before your kids, probably there before your job. Your spouse is your soulmate. Your very best friend, for life. Even though the sky above may be grey right now, there ARE blue skies ahead.
Keep intimacy in your marriage. Some couples have problems in their marriage, and let intimacy slip away first. People need physical contact. When you lose the intimacy in your marriage, you are losing the physical bond between you.
You married your spouse because the two of you love each other. Over the years, marriages have their trials and tribulations. When you need to know the answer to your question “how to fix my marriage?”, you have to take this fact into consideration, and learn how to lean on each other – in good times and bad.
